SEAN "DIDDY" COMBS HONORED AT MTV'S 2023 VMAS AND KICKS OFF PERFORMANCE WITH NEW SINGLE "ANOTHER ONE OF ME"

DIDDY RECEIVES MTV’S GLOBAL ICON AWARD

MTV honors VMAs Global Icon Award winner, Sean “Diddy” Combs, with special guest appearances by Yung Miami, Keyshia Cole, Christian “King” Combs, Jessie and D’Lila Combs, making it a true family affair.

In anticipation of his latest R&B masterpiece, “The Love Album: Off The Grid,” releasing on Friday, September 15th, MTV honors music mogul and global superstar Sean “Diddy” Combs with the Global Icon Award.

Highlighting the evening was Mr. Combs’ performance of the flagship single “Another One of Me”, a dynamic collaboration with The Weeknd, French Montana, and 21 Savage. This track teases a fusion of styles and perspectives on love and life, marking an evolution in Mr. Combs’ Art of storytelling.

The Global Icon Award honors and celebrates artists or bands whose unparalleled careers, enduring impact, and influence have achieved a distinctive level of global success in music and beyond, leaving an indelible mark on the music landscape.

In honor of Mr. Combs, a star-studded performance featured special appearances in the following order:

Chance Combs presented the honor with Mary J. Blige to Mr. Combs. In attendance was his whole family to support, his mother Janice Combs, Justin Combs, Christian “King” Combs, Quincy Combs, Jessica and D’Lila Combs, his nephew Stephen Dent, sister Keisha Combs, and many of his longtime friends, like Carl Thomas, Nathaniel “Giggs” Thompson, and Shyne. His acceptance speech was deeply genuine and heartfelt, focusing on growth, unity, and a clear call to action.

“I definitely look at my life as truly a miracle. Starting as a paperboy to finding my calling in the music industry, music really, really saved my life. I wouldn’t be here without all the people who believed in me, gave me an opportunity, and the fans who’ve supported me throughout. A special thank you to all of them.”

The album marks Mr. Combs’ triumphant return since “Last Train to Paris” in 2010 and showcases collaborations with a star-studded roster including The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Mary J Blige, and more. The evening was a testament to Mr. Combs’ status as a true icon in the music industry, showcasing why he remains one of the most influential performers of his time.
