Emcee N.I.C.E., the renowned Christian hip-hop artist, achieved a momentous feat on January 8th, claiming the coveted Group Duo of the Year award at the prestigious 8th Annual Avidity Awards held in New Orleans. This remarkable triumph stemmed from his collaboration with Everett Drake and Canton Jones on the chart-topping single “Amen Right There,” produced by the gifted 14-year-old, Sci Blw. Beyond recognizing their outstanding musical partnership, the award symbolizes the dynamic evolution of gospel music, Christian hip hop, and gospel rap.

The acclaimed track, “Amen Right There,” transcends four generations of gospel music, attributing its widespread appeal. The EP, also titled “Amen Right There” (Vibes), achieved remarkable success, clinching the #1 position on iTunes’ Christian/Gospel Top Album Sales chart. Emcee N.I.C.E. earned nominations in four distinct categories: Gospel Rap Artist of the Year, Christian Hip Hop Artist of the Year, Best Group Duo of the Year, and Song of the Year.

The 8th Annual Avidity Awards, a collaborative effort between Avidity TV, Avidity Promotions, and The Elite Gospel Music & Ministry Academy (TEGMMA), unfolded at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Branded as “The Biggest Night in Independent Gospel Music,” the event celebrated the crème de la crème of gospel, honoring singers, songwriters, producers, Christian and gospel hip-hop artists, background vocalists, and radio contributors. Hosted by the accomplished B.Slade, the ceremony featured soul-stirring performances from a diverse lineup, including Robyn McGhee, Anthony Hall, Cardell Booker, La’Kea Stokes, and more.
