It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story? How did you get to where you are today?

I started my career working for IRS for over 22 years. This is where I learned how to become the tax professional officially, I am today. When I started back in Dec 1997, I was in collections and moved over to the tax-free side. I worked in several areas of that department. I applied and became a Tax Law Specialist. This is where I assisted tax clients with more difficult tax issues. I learned how to use the Tax Treaty, explain foreigners that came into the United States what their tax obligation are, estates, gift tax rules, US citizens that work outside the US etc. While working at IRS, I became more diverse in taxes.

I also became a Lead Instructor, where I educated and share my knowledge with my peers. Also, I’m able to educate new tax entrepreneurs currently. I retired from IRS in 2018 and this is where I begin to think what my next phase of my life would be. I was introduced to a young lady named Shatonya Thomas; she was looking for someone with my expertise and knowledge to assist and to partner with. For the last three years, we have been working side by side to dominate the tax industry.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

While working at IRS, I sustained a few injuries and had a few surgeries. With those injuries I didn’t let it define me or discourage me from reaching my goals. Working through the pain and knowing that I’ve came thus far, this was the motivation that I needed.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I’m a Tax Professional, but I also specialize in Tax Resolution. This is where I assist taxpayers with their tax debt. I have different programs that I offer my clients where we can either get their debt reduced or completely removed. I offer assistance with getting penalties and interest abated off taxes owed. Also, knowledgeable with tax audits on getting them resolved or possible an audit reconsideration. This is where I assist the clients to gather the appropriate documents, to submit to the IRS. With over 25 years of experience from working within IRS, I have an advantage on researching Internal Revenue Code and Tax Regulations. The ability to be able to read different correspondence letters that comes from IRS.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Define what success means to you and set certain goals and achieve those goals. Always have a mentor or a coach that’s successful in the area you’re trying to achieve. Always take constructive criticism and avoid immediate reaction.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

It means I set out goals for myself and achieve those goals. I set out a clear direction on things that I admire or want to accomplish.

What’s next for you?

I want to expand my brand. Start a NON-Profit that assist young women that want to start their own business and need a mentor to achieve their goals. Give them guidance and assistance they need to know that they can accomplish anything. Just like someone helped me.
