The Inspiring Partnership of Women Empowering Nations and Cantu Beauty

In a world where empowerment and mentorship are essential for the success of aspiring female leaders, Women Empowering Nations (WEN) and Cantu Beauty have joined forces to create a powerfully impactful initiative designed to help women excel in leadership. Their powerful collaboration is setting new standards for cultivating and celebrating female leadership, particularly among young Black women. Through their innovative 10-week program, WEN is equipping a new generation of women with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to excel in their chosen fields, all while Cantu Beauty provides vital support to make dreams a reality.

The Birth of an Inspiring Partnership

In 2020, the entire world was turned on its head with the introduction of the pandemic. It was during this time that WEN and Cantu Beauty joined forces, creating a pivotal moment in their journey of empowerment. The need to continue supporting and uplifting young women globally was clear, and they answered the call by transitioning to a virtual space, giving birth to the groundbreaking “Our World Virtual Summit.” Cantu Beauty wholeheartedly embraced this endeavor, generously sponsoring scholarships for deserving students. What began as a response to adversity transformed into a partnership spanning several years.

The Girls Leading Our World (GLOW) Global Cohort Initiative

To ensure the sustained engagement and growth of these aspiring leaders, WEN and Cantu Beauty introduced the Girls Leading Our World Global Cohort program—an initiative designed to bring together 50 exceptional young women leaders from six countries. This transformative program is a testament to their shared commitment to empowering women by offering them invaluable experiences and connections.

The Objectives of the GLOW Global Cohort Program

The GLOW Global Cohort program has clear and ambitious objectives aimed at accelerating the path of Black girls to executive leadership. WEN and Cantu Beauty focus on three key areas; Exposure, Coaching and Networking.

They understand that exposure expands expectations and by facilitating cultural exchange and introspection, they empower these young women to grow and flourish in self-confidence. Through the program, participants gain insights into diverse cultures and viewpoints, broadening their horizons in ways that can only benefit their future leadership roles.

Another key component of the program is coaching with the understanding that access to women in leadership positions is essential for personal and professional development. The program offers young women the opportunity to receive executive coaching, providing them with valuable insights and guidance from top leaders in various fields. This exposure not only enhances their skills but also instills the confidence needed to pursue leadership roles.

The women are taught to see the power in building a strong network, often crucial for professional growth. The GLOW Global Cohort program connects participants with leaders from across the globe, including experts who provide training and guidance. The connections forged during this program can be instrumental in opening doors to opportunities and collaborations in the future.

Advice for Aspiring Change Agents

When asked what advice they would give to young Black women aspiring to become change agents in their communities, the organization responds by reminding the young women to stay grounded in who they are and to recognize their own true beauty and value.

The young leaders are encouraged to amplify their voices, stay committed to their passions and purposes, and seek out organizations or women in their communities who can join them on their journey. This collaborative approach, exemplified by the partnership between WEN and Cantu Beauty, is a powerful reminder that together, we can transform lives and build a brighter future for women everywhere.
