In commemoration of Ollie “OT” Tansimore’s late mother, the Etherine Tansimore College Scholarship, now in its second year, continues its mission to support high school seniors pursuing medical professions. Established in collaboration with bold.org, the scholarship is open to students nationwide interested in studying medical topics at colleges or universities. Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and meet specific demographic and economic criteria, including a low-income background.

Last year, the scholarship fund, after a national search, granted $1,100 to a student pursuing a medical career. In 2024, Ollie Tansimore aims to double the impact by raising funds to support two deserving students applying for the scholarship.

This initiative not only pays tribute to his mother’s legacy but also addresses the financial challenges in medical education. Ollie emphasizes the scholarship’s role as a crucial tool in supporting the next generation of nurses, educators, CNAs, and medical professionals, contributing to the growing need for healthcare professionals.

As the host of the OT Radio Show, Ollie shares that his mother’s influence, as a lifelong nurse, motivated family members to aim high, focus on excellence, stay humble, and give back. The application process includes writing a short essay detailing their life and how they plan to make a positive impact on the world through a medical career.

The application deadline is Nov. 28, 2024, with winners announced at the end of December. Interested applicants can find more information and submit applications at https://bold.org/scholarships/etherine-tansimore-scholarship/.

Ollie Tansimore invites businesses to contribute to the scholarship fund, emphasizing its impact in nurturing future leaders in the medical field. Donations are tax-deductible.
