It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story? How did you get to where you are today?

My entire life, I had always dreamed of being an RN. However, while in college, I was indicted on federal drug charges, which unfortunately killed my dream forever. I was sentenced to 5 years in federal prison. Upon my release, I refused to become a statistic and settled on what the world would call “a felon.” The label meant I had to go harder. I started in the tax industry at 17, but only for family, so I thought, why not make it a career? I knew my only option was to make the life I wanted for myself as an entrepreneur. I joined Thomas Financial as a tax preparer, and the rest has become history.

Rosie Thomas, the CEO, took me under her wing and gave me the game THOROUGHLY!!! She helped me prepare you for my future. Over the years, I’ve been able to master my skill and become one of the best while under her mentorship. Shortly thereafter, I started my own tax firm known as Fuller Financial. As a result of rapid growth, I rebranded our firm to Empire Konnectionz LLC. I am now a top-tier connection for all things such as business consulting, business & personal credit, tax planning & preparation, bookkeeping, notary, signing agent, & life insurance. My goal is to help my clients by offering multiple financial services. I’m passionate about single mothers who may face the odds of being a statistic and showing them how we define our own future no matter the odds against us. I will continue to invest in my brand in order to give back and help change the lives of others.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Significant challenges have marked my path to success. Facing federal drug charges and a prison sentence, transitioning from family tax work to a career, establishing my own firm, and balancing entrepreneurship with single motherhood were all hurdles I had to overcome. These challenges have been instrumental in shaping my resilience and determination.

My best advice for those seeking success is to persevere relentlessly. Stay focused on your goals, learn from your failures, and never let setbacks deter you. Success often comes to those who are determined and resilient in the face of challenges.
