Jumpsuits were once a functional garment created during the turn of the last century for parachuters jumping from World War I planes. The once utilitarian one-piece slowly began to emerge in women’s wardrobe by World War II, when men were recruited to the frontlines, and women took over manufacturing jobs previously only held by men. By the ’70s, the once unflattering garnet took on an entirely new shape becoming more flattering.
