Happy birthday to the one and only Queen of Soul. Aretha Frankling would have celebrated her 78th birthday today Wednesday, March 25, 2020.
In honor of her birthday, National Geographic Channel series’ about her celebrated in the best way.
In a statement, National Geographic shared, “During her lifetime, Aretha Franklin supported a large number of charities and advocacy organization, including Feeding America. To mark what would have been her 78th birthday, and in recognition of the difficult times we are currently in, National Geographic Channel is making a donation to Feeding America in Aretha’s name.”
The network also released a photo from their upcoming series, Genius: Aretha featuring Cynthia Erivo as Aretha Franklin.

Suzan-Lori Parks is the executive producer and writer while Ron and Briar Grazer also executive produces this project.
Genius: Aretha will feature Franklin’s greatest hits performed by both Erivo and Aretha Franklin. It is set to premiere on May 25th on the National Geographic Channel.
