Issa Rae’s critically-acclaimed television show, Rap Sh!t, hosted their soundtrack release party for Season 2 at XR Studios on a brisk night in Hollywood, California. Delicious catering and open bar was provided for everyone in attendance the entire night.
Due to the ongoing strike in the TV/film industry, the night had a heavier emphasis on music than the premiering of the season, but music and film execs alike came out to give their full support. RAP SH!T showrunner, Syreeta Singleton and Issa Rae, opened with a few words to present the masterfully written and produced first two episodes of this new season.
In Season 2, we see KaMillion and Aida Osman reprise their roles as Mia and Shawna and begin to navigate the next step in their music careers. We also see fan favorites Jonica Booth and RJ Cyler return to their roles as Chastity and Lamont Diggs as well.
Afterwards the partygoers were then treated to a live performance of a few tracks from Raedio’s RAP SH!T: The Mixtape. The performers included Rico Nasty, Cozz, Guapdad 4000, Omeretta the Great, Cam and China, Ncognita, Bryant Taylorr, Tim Gent, ThankGod4Cody, and Ben Reilly.
After their performances, the artists then joined their guests for a night of partying and pictures until XR Studios had to shut it down. The soundtrack release party was a complete success and season 2 of Rap Sh!t, which premieres November 9th on MAX, will undoubtedly be the same.
