Keyshia Cole is here to tell her story, one of resilience, strength, perseverance, and faith. While new fans may just know the hit records — “Love,” “I Should Have Cheated,” “Let It Go,” and many more — her day one fans know the trials and tribulations she had to overcome to get to where she is today.

On Wednesday, June 21st, the Oakland, California native graced the red carpet at the GRAMMY Museum in downtown Los Angeles, celebrating the release of her new biopic Keyshia Cole: This is My Story. Starring Keyshia Cole herself, the film is slated to premiere on Lifetime this Saturday, June 24th.

Sheen had the pleasure of attending the exclusive screening, as Keyshia showed out in a beige, floor-length dress. When asked what she was wearing, she jokingly laughed saying “I don’t know. It cost $4K. I tried to pull the dress down because I knew y’all was going to ask me, I’m like I need to know.”

After the screening, which aroused many emotions as Keyshia is seen navigating the spotlight with a mother who’s an addict, Keyshia sat down with Ron Fair for a Q&A, discussing everything from the process of making the film to why she didn’t love her viral smash “Love.”

One big takeaway from the film? The variety of looks Keyshia sported on the small screen.

Keyshia explains, “I can’t stick to one thing. I gotta have some artistic way to express myself through my style and my hair. For some reason, it’s just the way I am. The way it is, no pun intended. That’s a passion of mine. Shout out to me cutting my goddamn hair off.”
