It’s no secret that Lil Baby is one of the biggest artists in the rap game, and now he’s finally telling his story on the small (or big) screen. On Wednesday Aug 24th, Amazon Prime held an exclusive screening for #Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby at Cinemark Baldwin Hills Crenshaw. The film serves an intimate look at the life of Grammy-winning rapper Dominique Armani Jones (aka Lil Baby).

Throughout the documentary we see how Lil Baby navigates his rise from the West Atlanta streets to the top of the Billboard charts. Jones is typically a private individual, but in #Untrapped we get to see the devoted father, son, community philanthropist, and powerful voice in the fight for racial justice that he is.

#Untrapped is directed by Karan Gill, and produced by Dominique Jones, Pierre “P” Thomas, Kevin “Coach K” Lee, Karam Gill, Daniel Malikyar, Andrew Primavera, and Blase Biello. As the documentary opens, Lil Baby is speaking on dreaming about his current life as a kid. Although he never had any aspirations to be a rapper, he always dreamed of being a millionaire boss taking care of his family. He didn’t know how, but he knew he was willing to do whatever it took.

During #Untrapped we hear testimonials from Drake, Young Thug, Gunna, and Charlamagne tha God to name a few – all of whom details Jones’ work ethic, intelligence, and character to be amongst the greatest music has ever seen. #Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby will be available worldwide on Prime Video, August 26th, 2022.

This piece will not only show a side of Lil Baby the world has never seen, it will also show people in underprivileged ghettos around the world that it’s possible to make it out.
