Get ready because The Craft sequel will be here before you know it! Written and directed by actress, Zoe Lister-Jones, this reboot project titled, The Craft: Legacy will take you on an adventure of a lifetime! We caught up with actress, Lovie Simone to discuss her role in this exciting new adaption, her experience filming the reboot, and much more.

Tell us about your experience in Sony’s Reboot of THE CRAFT.

I got the part after having the directors FaceTime with Zoe Lister-Jones. I heard her talk about the original and where she discussed where she wanted to take The Craft: Legacy. I was in complete awe with how beautiful and relevant everything was. She reclaimed so much with witchcraft and taking so much back. With the cast, it was so beautiful and magical, not to sound cheesy (laughs). I appreciate experience and it was nice getting close with the girls, the witches, and everyone that helped us on set. It was an overall pleasant experience.

What can we expect to see from you in the Netflix series, Social Distance?

You can expect to see where I stand, a good sense of my character’s beliefs, how she shares that with others, and how she communicates while handling others. I feel like it’s shining a light on how conversations are going now in midst of a global pandemic. It dives into how we’ve managed with so many restrictions.

How has quarantine life been for you?

It’s been everything (laughs). It’s been discouraging and encouraging. Before I felt like my home was a pit stop and now, I actually get to live in it. I feel like it’s shining light on a lot of things that I believe I was missing pre-pandemic. We’ve just been on go so being able to slow down and take my life one step at a time has been nice. I appreciate the pandemic; I can say that.

What can we look forward to seeing from you in the future?

I’m currently in New York filming POWER. In regards to my future, I think you guys should be on the lookout for a lot of adventure characters and being in every arena.

The Craft: Legacy from Blumhouse and Red Wagon Entertainment for Columbia Pictures
