Born in London but raised in LA, singer-songwriter Maia Zakay is the future of R&B music. Many music lovers compare Maia to Ariana, who Maia names Ariana Grande as one of her inspirations and why she got into music. Maia started singing for fun at the tender age of three years old and has never stopped. Although she had some vocal training, her singing and production skills are self-taught, and she is obsessed with everything that is music. Maia wrote her first song at 16 years old in response to a dark time in her life. Now, Maia finds solace in the art of songwriting. What started as a personal form of therapy became Maia’s way of helping others. Her music deeply resonates with people.

Despite 2020 being a challenging year for everyone, the 19-year-old songstress released her debut album “#SpeakUp” independently. She wrote and co-produced the album with Stephan Oberhoff, who works closely with legends such as Quincy Jones, David Foster, Barbra Streisand, and more! Maia is steadily building a loyal fanbase and garners thousands of monthly listens on Spotify.

Maia caught the eyes and ears of super-producer Scott Storch. You may know Storch from his work with the biggest names in music, including Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Lil Kim, Chris Brown, Christina Aguilera, and the list goes on.  Not only that, she has worked with Drake’s producer “40” on an unreleased track and Beyoncé’s team reached out to Maia to write a hook for her, and the feedback was incredibly positive.
