It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

I started out in traditional journalism, including newspaper editorial and reporting. However, I soon learned that wasn’t my passion. The writing, yes. The news and facts stories, not so much. I was more of a creative writer. I published my first book in 2010. But I was soon laid off my corporate job for a total of three years. I was literally forced to use what I had in my hands–writing and editing. I started my own editing company, editing manuscripts, resumes, cover letters, etc. Over time, the company has transitioned into solely focusing on books and helping others boost their brand through books.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

I’ve definitely had to overcome depression and suicidal thoughts. When I first stepped into full time entrepreneurship, the enemy told me this was it. God wasn’t going to do anything greater through me and that I should just kill myself. That’s when I realized I was stepping into my purpose and greatness–because he tried to cut me off before I even got started good. I’ve had to overcome negative mindsets and thinking about money, people, potential clients and even myself! Self-doubt and fear are real. They are going to show up every time you prepare to soar. I learned to board the plane afraid. Fear may always be present.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I specialize in helping people boost their brands and accelerate their paydays through books! I do so through book coaching, ghostwriting and publishing services. This is my purpose and passion. I believe every CEO, entrepreneur, solopreneur and wanna-be-preneur should have a book under their belt that speaks to their signature wow factor!

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

My best piece of advice for finding success is “Find your purpose and passion, get in YOUR lane, and burn rubber!”

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success to me is so much more than money. It’s all about impact over income. It’s about transformation, not just transactions. If I’m not causing others to change, I could be making a million dollars a year. In my opinion, it’s dung. I must be making a positive impact in the lives of others. Success for me is also others finding joy, happiness and purpose in life through Christ because they have encountered my light and love!
