Just last year, NBA legend, Michael Jordan and The Jordan Brand pledged that they would donate $1 million over the next ten years to nationwide organizations.

It looks like they’re keeping their promise. ESPN has revealed that the organization will focus on increasing its work in communities across the United States to provide education and create opportunities for the generations to come.

It was just revealed that Jordan and The Jordan Brand are giving $1 million to Morehouse College’s journalism and sports-related programs. This donation will help fund scholarships, technology, and educational programming for the current students.

The program will also focus on the lack of Black leadership in the journalism and athletic industry.

In an official statement, Monique Dozier, Morehouse Vice President For Institutional Advancement said, “Morehouse is grateful to Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand for an investment in the education of talented men of color who will ensure there is equity, balance, and truth in the way sports stories are framed and the way the Black experience is contextualized within American history.”
