Every year, Miss Diddy gives back in a major way. A Compton native, Miss Diddy is an entrepreneur and the CEO of The Brand Group LA who makes it her mission to give back to her community any chance she can.

On Friday, June 24th, Miss Diddy threw her annual event titled A Toast To Black Hollywood, which historically takes place during BET weekend in the city of Angels. This year was certainly one for the books, taking over THE PENTHOUSE in downtown Los Angeles for yet another  unforgettable evening.

This year’s honorees include Catherine Brewton: Vice President, Creative at Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI); Lady London: rapper, songwriter, author, and actress, Kimberly Paige: BET EVP, Chief Marketing Officer; Wale Ogunleye: Managing Director, Head of Sports and Entertainment at UBS, Bozoma Saint John: Hall of Fame Marketer (Netflix/Uber/Apple Music), The Urgent Life Author; Dr. Wendy Osefo: political commentator and television personality; Dorion Renaud: founder of Award-winning Buttahskin and actor, Ashley Blaine Featherson; Jenkins: actress; J. Alphonse Nicholson: actor and percussionist; Eva Marcille: actress and model; and Zerina Akers: Emmy Award-winning costume designer and fashion stylist.

The invite-only event featured a highly-anticipated performance by Sevyn Streeter, who also in turn praised Miss Diddy for running Black Hollywood. Sevyn performed a breathtaking cover of James Brown’s “It’s A Man’s Man’s World,” before performing her own fan favorite “Before I Do.”
