Congratulations are in order!
Miss India Harnaaz Sandhu has just been crowned Miss Universe! The 70th annual Miss Universe pageant took place on Sunday, December 12th.
Miss Paraguay Nadia Ferreira was awarded runner up, with Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane placed third.
There were many firsts for this year’s pageant. Manar Nadeem Deyani made history as the first woman to ever represent Bahrain in the pageant, while the televised event also marked the first time Morocco – represented by Kawtar Benhalima appeared in the competition since 1978.
Steve Harvey returned as host this year, while his daughter Lori Harvey, Adriana Lima, Rena Sofer, Iris Mittenaere, Adamari López, Urvashi Rautela and Marian Rivera all served as this year’s committee.
In addition, Jojo and Noa Kirel took the stage to perform.
The pageant comes just weeks after Miss Kentucky, Elle Smith was named Miss USA.
