  • Overall Inspiration: Hurricane Chris shares, “Listening to some of my favorite rappers and realizing that they stopped making the music that put them in position and have no elevation, has led to me dropping Hurricane Season 2.”

  • Trials and Tribulations: Chris explains, “I did it mostly to show I rap better than most rappers strictly for the sport.”

  • Lyrics and Production: “Yes, I wrote all the songs, and DUBMAGIC ROE produced it,” he proudly declares. “I ain’t Drake, I’m not in the studio with big writers. You will never hear me rap a verse I didn’t write because I never had that luxury, and my flow is too lethal like drinking Windex.”

  • Hurricane Season 1 vs. Hurricane Season 2: “It’s been 8 years since the first Hurricane Season mixtape. – XXL said it was the best mixtape of the year, and now I have a clear head after being acquitted, so I wanted to show that number one wasn’t just a coincidence or a fluke, but simply something I do with ease.”

  • Standout Tracks: Highlighting the heavy-hitting track “Neighborhood,” Chris notes, “Produced by Helluva, I told him let me show him what I’ll do to one of his beats, and he sent the track. I laid it in ten minutes. My second favorite track on Hurricane Season 2 is “Stand Up.”

  • Album Representation: In his own words, “I’m him not them.”

  • Impact on Fans: “I know there isn’t any mixtape out right now that can even come close. I just wanted to show the fans who got the sickest flow as a rapper, not a singer or an auto-tune rapper with no real voice.”
