Olympic medalist, Javianne Oliver discusses her silver medal victory and staying fit! The Monroe, GA native was very candid about her journey from initially not liking track to winning her first Olympic medal, and her inspirations along the way. Javianne proves your path doesn’t have to be linear in order to be successful. We’re sure this won’t be Javianne’s last Olympic medal!

Congratulations on becoming an Olympic Silver Medalist! How does that feel?

It honestly hasn’t hit me yet! I’m still getting used to the thought of it! It’s exciting.

What first sparked your love for track?

I actually didn’t like track when I first started in eighth grade, I went to practice after school and wanted to quit but didn’t have a ride home. Once I won my first track meet, I thought, ‘This is kind of fun’ and decided to stick with it.
