Many know Pauline Malcolm-Thornton from her fashionable Instagram page with the former username @9to5fab. But, she is more than a fashion trendsetter, mother of two, and wife; she drives revenue to media companies, creating a unique lane for herself that is truly noteworthy and will inspire other Black women to enter this non-traditional career. 

Pauline joined Essence Ventures (“ESSENCE”) approximately two years ago as Chief Revenue Officer. In her role, Pauline has made a historical impact, driving the highest revenue in ESSENCE’s history, Pauline is a leading senior media and tech advertising sales executive and entrepreneur. At ESSENCE, Pauline leads “Sales, Sales Development and Strategy, Account Management, and Sales Operations.”

Before joining ESSENCE, Pauline was Senior Vice President of Global Sales at BEN, leading a team of managers and individual contributors to double revenue year over year. Before BEN, Pauline held senior sales leadership positions at top media companies such as The Walt Disney Company, Conde Nast, and Quibi.

Pauline’s educational foundation laid the groundwork for her success. She graduated from Baruch College with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing and a Minor in Computer Science. Moreover, Pauline also earned her Executive Management Certificate from Harvard Business School.

She is setting trends in fashion and business and serves as a board member at the Cayton Museum, the only children’s museum in Los Angeles. She truly believes philanthropy rounds out your career goals.
