Philadelphia, PA – In a resounding call for justice and accountability, concerned citizens, activists, and community leaders will come together in a powerful demonstration on September 29, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. E.S.T. The protest will take place at Philadelphia City Hall, where supporters will demand the District Attorney’s office of Philadelphia to revisit the case of Tyree Wallace, an innocent man who has endured 25 years of wrongful incarceration.

Tyree Wallace’s harrowing tale of injustice serves as a stark reminder of the failures in our criminal justice system, where the innocent are sometimes imprisoned for decades while the true perpetrators roam free. Despite being wrongfully convicted of a crime he did not commit, Wallace has shown remarkable steadfastness and resilience, keeping hope alive throughout his unjust imprisonment.

Crucially, there is no physical evidence linking Tyree Wallace to the murder for which he was convicted. Moreover, the credibility of witnesses who testified against him has been seriously discredited, casting doubt on the integrity of his trial.

Newly surfaced evidence has revealed that the prosecution’s case against Mr. Wallace was the result of police intimidation and coercion. This revelation raises troubling questions about the fairness and transparency of the criminal justice process that led to his conviction.

In a significant development, a court-certified polygraph examination has conclusively ruled Tyree Wallace out as a suspect in the crime. This crucial piece of evidence underscores his innocence and demands immediate attention from the District Attorney’s office.

Wallace’s case has garnered widespread attention and support from individuals and organizations dedicated to criminal justice reform, including the Innocence Project. The Innocence Project has tirelessly worked to unearth evidence that could exonerate Tyree Wallace.

The rally at Philadelphia City Hall will feature a lineup of speakers who are deeply invested in Tyree Wallace’s cause. Friends, legal advocates, community leaders, and activists will share compelling stories and passionately call on District Attorney Larry Krasner to take immediate action. They will urge the District Attorney to review the case thoroughly and ensure that justice is served.

This peaceful protest aims to shed light on the injustice suffered by Tyree Wallace and to rally for a fair and equitable criminal justice system. Supporters from across the nation will stand united, demanding that the District Attorney’s office rectify this grave miscarriage of justice.
