R3 Da Chilliman is ready to take over 2024, delivering a banger to start off the new year. Today, the California native unveils a new single and music video entitled “To Da Face” featuring OhGeesy, out now via 300 Entertainment.
Right out of the gate, OhGeesy sets the tempo as he outlines a series of key “rules” on the hook. The Los Angeles titan’s laidback flow simmers as he warns, “Rule number two, don’t be trapping where you stay.” Meanwhile, R3 Da Chilliman counters with an intense flow punctuated by his distinctive melodies. Directed by ROOK, the accompanying visual resembles a trip through the Los Angeles underground long after-hours. Homies throw cash on the floor, girls get D.I.Y. tattoos, and R3 Da Chilliman and OhGeesy reign supreme in every scene.
“To Da Face” paves the way for R3 Da Chilliman’s anxiously awaited full-length debut album, The People’s Choice, due out this year. It unfolds as his deepest and most dynamic body of work yet. Eclectic flows and introspective rhymes underscore his vision of Southern California, canvasing the streets of his native Moreno Valley with nothing but truth and love.
R3 dropped his 300 debut mixtape Chilli Season in March 2023 with features from Kalan.FrFr, ALLBLACK and 03 Greedo. Earmilkproclaimed, “His structured flow and gritty vernacular blend effortlessly into the west coast hip-hop scene.” His viral sensation “Rock & Roll” with fellow West Coast bar spitter stoneda5th has generated over 5 million streams and positioned him as one of the region’s breakout stars. In 2022, R3 joined Fenix Flexin on his Mid-West tour and was named one of Audiomack’s “10 Rappers You Should Know.” R3’s come-up has just begun, and he has no plans to slow down anytime soon.
