Licensed counselor, Sasha Johnson is a woman known to have impacted both Alabama and Georgia. She’s provided counseling, advocacy, and support to those in need on countless occasions and is the founder of the non-profit, Sister’s 2nd Chance – an organization that aims to empower and supporting women. Johnson’s voice is heard on The G Spot Radio Show under Power 108.9 and she is the author of a book titled, It’s a Losing Battle, but I Won. We wanted to catch up with the woman of many hats to discuss in detail the inspiration behind creating Sister’s 2nd Chance, why she is so passionate about mental health, and much more!

What made you want to become a counselor?

I have watched some of my family members deal with mental illness and I wanted to understand why and what was happening to them. I wanted to be a direct positive impact to helping to decrease the stigma surrounding mental health,

Do you mind sharing with us why mental health is so important to you?

Yes, mental health should be important to us all. I believe that if we could work on getting our minds in order then maybe the external factors that impact our lives would be handled in more appropriate ways.

Tell us about your non-profit, Sister’s 2nd Chance.

It is a nonprofit organization that focuses on providing support, motivation and empowerment to women. We provide financial assistance, free counseling and many other things that could be possible challenges. I am happy to say that we have been able to help more women by providing free counseling during the COVID-19 pandemic. I want the organization to continue to support individuals during such a trying time.

How is your experience as host of The G Spot Radio under Power 108.9?

My experience as a host of The G Spot under Power 108.9 has been exciting and amazing. I love that I have the opportunity to provide people with motivation, my perspective about relationships and mental health. I also get to interact with amazing Ashley Monique, who is my co-host on the show.

What inspired the creation of your book?

My life inspired me to create my book called, “It’s a Losing Battle but I Won”. I have experienced so much in my life such as molestation, suicidal thoughts and physical abuse in my previous marriage. I decided that it was time to share my story, so that I could help other people and inspire them to share their stories.

What can we expect to see from you in the future?

My future ahead of me has some amazing things, such as a reality show called “Boss Ladies of Atlanta” that I am producing, which focuses on  group of up and coming women in the Atlanta area struggling to strive as business owners while juggling 9 to 5s, family, dating and obstacles as they are faced with the COVID-19 pandemic.
