Amidst shocking cuts to DEI initiatives, entrepreneur and cultural icon Sean “Diddy” Combs made an impactful statement in Atlanta within just 24 hours. He revealed two significant initiatives, both geared towards fostering economic empowerment and upholding the legacies of historically Black institutions.
In his first stop at Invest Fest, Combs announced a $1 million investment fund in partnership with ‘Earn Your Leisure’ (EYL) founders Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings. The fund will put the investment strategies discussed on EYL into action, providing a practical model for economic empowerment.
“I’m thrilled to join forces with Earn Your Leisure. We’re going beyond discussing finances and taking action to demystify the world of investing for our community,” said Combs. The mogul also committed that any profits from the fund would support his three Capital Preparatory charter schools in New York and Connecticut.”
Combs and Combs Global committed to working closely with Bilal and Millings to demystify the complex world of investing and provide tangible, real-time examples of wealth.
Combs’ rounds in Atlanta didn’t stop there. At the Cricket MEAC-SWAC Challenge Kickoff, the entrepreneur presented a $1 million donation from Sean Combs Foundation to Jackson State University Football. The pledge, made during Combs’ acceptance speech for the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 BET Awards, will be delivered in installments over the next several years.
