We’ve finally got the first trailer for Netflix’s upcoming film titled Passing starring Tessa Thompson, Ruth Negga, André Holland, Gbenga Akinnagbe, and Antoinette Crowe-Legacy.

The new film explores the formerly practiced by some fair-skinned African Americans in the early to mid 1900’s. It tells the story of two Black women Irene Redfield and Clarke Kendry who are able to convincingly ‘pass’ as white. The childhood friends live on opposite sides of the color line during the Harlem Renaissance in the late ’20s.

The film first premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and is an adaption of the 1929 novel by Nella Larsen.

Passing will premiere in theaters on October 27th in select theaters. In addition, it will stream on Netflix beginning November 10th.
