It is difficult, if not nearly impossible for people to break into the industry as one major role. Some can capitalize on the East Coast, but never make it to the west. But for Da Boy Dame, he just calls that a normal Tuesday. Currently the head of A&R at the record label CMG, Dame has become the new emerging rap artist at Def Jam. He recently released his new single “Feelings” featuring Rick Ross and EST Gee. This song is a clear, raw explanation of just how determination can get you in rooms, as long as you’re not solely focused on your feelings. Although Dame is from Oakland California, the artist attended HBCU Clark Atlanta university where he worked at the campus radio station. This would inevitably introduce him to Yo Gotti, with whom Dame would go on to become the man he is today. When Sheen saw that we were on the precipice of history, we knew it was only right to be in attendance at his exclusive media mixer held in Atlanta Georgia. Correspondent Britni The Brand was able to curate a live q&a, and find out just how he became Da Boy Dame!
