In the southern roots of Alabama the artist known as Bake Leon is blessing the industry with his new single “Hurt.” This song gives the audience a chance to see the R&B and rap combination which gives fans an undeniable energy and vibe to listen to.

“Hurt” has been labeled as the 2020 song of the summer! Not only is Bake Leon an artist but he runs his own record label, “Bag Entertainment” which he’s dropped several other singles under. Bedtime was another single released earlier this summer that showcases how versatile the artist truly is. When it comes to consistency in the hip-hop culture circuit, Bake Leon has demonstrated his rightful place in rap and r&b. Check out his single “Hurt” and “Bedtime” streaming on all platforms.

SHEEN discussed new music, inspiration, and goals with Bake Leon! Checkout the Q&A:

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

If I could change anything about the industry it probably would be the persona of a R&B singer being soft. I grew up in the streets and made a way for myself and my career from hustling. I was just blessed and fortunate to be able to sing!!

During times of adversity, how did you continue to connect with your music?

Times of adversity humbled me and made me go deeper into my inner self and paint a picture of the pain that I felt in a situation.

What first got you into music?

I grew up going to church so I knew from the first time I heard an instrument I felt the fire that this is what I want to build my life around.

What made you choose to become a (genre) singer?

My music is indescribable because I’m not labeling in any category. I created my own category which is called R&TrapB . I talk about the way of living hustling on the corner to being heartbroken in a toxic relationship. You will have to listen to my music to understand.

How would you describe the music that you typically create? What is your creative process like?

My creative process is when I go through a situation I lock myself in the studio, cut on a beat and let the beat talk to me and take my feelings and paint a picture of what just happened to me.

What is your favourite song to perform?

VV’S might be my favorite song to perform because the ladies love it and the club can bounce to it at the same time.
