Superbowl LVIII Second Annual Sports Illustrated Invitational

Superbowl LVIII set Las Vegas ablaze, as the city of lights was bursting with rapturous soirees in honor of America’s favorite game.

Sheen Magazine was on the scene for the Sports Illustrated Invitational Practice Round presented by Top Golf Las Vegas. The practice round was the pregame event to the 2nd Annual SI Invitational Golf Tournament, set at one of Las Vegas’ premier golf clubs—TPC Las Vegas.

Celebrity and non-celebrity golf enthusiasts participating in the Sports Illustrated Invitational, had the opportunity to practice their various golf swings in an attempt to hit an ace, albatross, or an eagle, at popular high tech sports entertainment multiplex, Top Golf. While swinging and mingling, delicious hors d’oeuvres and a top shelf open bar kept the invitational guests nourished.

The following day, Tournament Players Club Las Vegas (TPC Golf Las Vegas) hosted the SI Invitational, in which competitors gathered on pristine courses for an all-out shootout. Country Club Adjacent, a popular golf brand and podcast, hosted the event, with featured special celebrity guest golfers—Oakland Raiders Defensive End, Maxx Crosby and professional golfer and golf instructor, Paige Spiranac.

Ace Kids Golf Program Director, Preston Pinkney—founder of The Pinkney Foundation and Primetime Golf in downtown Oakland, also attended the Top Golf Practice Round, after celebrating taking first place at the Santonio Holmes and Charles Woodson Super Celebrity Shootout, presented by the CGA, Celebrity Golf Association.

“Las Vegas’ very own and the very worldwide, Avis Brown-Riley of LPGA, the Ladies Professional Golf Association also competed in the Super Celebrity Shootout. Avis is the 12th out of 20 African American Women to hold the coveted LPGA Golf Class A Professional certification in the world. Riley also made golf history as the 1st African American LPGA Golf Professional in the world to play in the 4th US Senior Women’s Open Championship in August 2022.” In 2017, she became an author when she released her autobiography, Building of a Champion: How I Became A Champion In Life, The Avis Brown Riley Story.

Sports Illustrated, “the ultimate destination in celebrating sports”, began hosting golf invitationals in 2023 in Scottsdale, Arizona for Superbowl LVII and the event will always be aligned with the big game.
