Get ready to meet an inspiring entrepreneur dedicated to empowering children and providing them with the necessary resources to succeed in business ownership.

Tenora Mia Edwards is a seven-figure CEO whose focus is on the people, neighborhood, and giving all access to a core program that enables them to transform their dreams or creative concepts into successful ventures. We had a lovely discussion, and she was open and shared about her experience as a single mother and struggles she faced. I had the opportunity to talk to her about how she followed her calling and became an entrepreneur. Throughout her success and impact to date, she has incredible passion to continue the momentum in elevating Black entrepreneurs throughout our shared communities.

On June 10th, 2023, she had the honor of hosting the Pink & Black Honors Gala which amplified the impact and importance of these innovative business founders with a night of networking, an awards ceremony with celebrity guests Tabitha Brown, Daymond John, and Hill Harper.

Tell us about your journey.

It had definitely been a journey. In the beginning, I didn’t get any sponsors. Nobody was responding. I had to face being told no many times and persevere.

I had to go back to the drawing board. I had a conversation with God and was told, ‘You need to partner with me.’ So, God was my first partner and the doors started opening up.  When you find that higher purpose things start to align.

What tips would you give someone who wants to start out and doesn’t know where to begin?

Number 1- Find a mentor! Invest in yourself, connect with someone that can pour into you, teach you, support you, and guide you as an entrepreneur.  When one wins, we all win!

How do you manage to balance life and family and be such a powerful woman?

That part wasn’t easy. Being a single mom of three children I had to work a lot. There were many struggles, but they were with me throughout it all and I taught them along the way. We move together as a unit which has been helpful.

Was there anything else you wanted to let the viewers know?

If you have a dream and a vision, Go For it! Don’t be afraid. Don’t let other people detour your vision or your dream. You will make it you just have to keep pushing and not give up!
