I don’t know about you but this winter weather has been kicking my ass.

Being cold is one of my least favorite things but is there really anything I can do about that? Besides that, I absolutely hate how dry my skin and lips get with the cold winter weather. I’ve literally tried everything you could think of. From DIY treatments to the most expensive moisturizing products you can find, I’ve tried it all.

No matter how much chapstick and vaseline I was applying to my lips, nothing seemed to be working for me.

With much frustration, I decided enough was enough. It was time to take matters into my own hands. After hours of researching, I found that the best way to dehydrate the skin is to scrub daily. Yes, chapped lips should be scrubbed daily.

But don’t get that confused because if your lips are flaky, you shouldn’t be exfoliating them on a daily basis.

The skin is ultra-thin on the lips so exfoliating the lips can be really harsh on the lips. the bottom line is yes, lip scrubs are a lifesaver but they should be used with caution. Don’t overdo it and you’ll soon find that chapped lips can be non-existent for you easily.

Check out a few lip scrubs I have been loving this winter. I truly believe they’ll help you just as much as they have helped me.

Vaseline Lip Therapy Cocoa Butter, $5.18

I know I mentioned that Vaseline didn’t do the trick for me but it wasn’t until I found this product from the brand that specifically is considered to be “lip therapy.” It contains cocoa butter and castor oil to not only protect the lips but also give them some hydration as well. Besides the high quality of this product, I also love that it is super affordable and can be found at the drugstore and online easily.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Lip Exfoliator, $4

Okay, guilty. This lip exfoliator was raved about all over my TikTok FYP and I had to give it a try. Not only because e.l.f. is one of my favorite affordable brands but because it’s literally a lip scrub in the tube of lipstick. It is filled with granules, vitamin E, shea butter, and avocado oil. It’s super hydrating and exfoliating for the lips. All you have to do is apply it to the lips and wipe it off!

Burt’s Bees Lip Treatment Lip Scrub, $8.99

I love anything with honey formulated in it so I knew upon first glance at this product that I had to give it a try. I’m so glad that I did! It does such a great job at buffing away the rough skin on the lips. I also use it to get rid of any leftover color on the lips from lipsticks. I use it about two or three times a week and my lips have never loved me so much.

Kiehl’s Buttermask Intense Repair Lip Treatment, $26

If you’re willing to spend a little extra bread on your lips then I would highly recommend this lip treatment from Kiehl’s. It contains coconut and mango oil and literally does all the magic overnight. Just apply it before hopping in bed and wake up with luscious, hydrated lips.
