New Orleans was popping this past weekend with the return of the highly anticipated Essence Fest 2022 the first one in two years. Essence kicked off June 30th-July 4th weekends in the historic city of  New Orleans; the festival which has been a staple for Essence Magazine over the last 25 years, however this year it was personal. Kicking off  with amazing panels in the ultra chic Beauty Carnival with LeToya Luckett, Barkue Tubman-Zawolo who’s the chief of staff over at Essence and Pauline Malcolm The Chief Revenue Officer. Disney being a official sponsor spared no expense when it came to inviting big brands such as Target, Ford, McDonalds, NAACP and more. The first night of the festival gave us such acts as Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and more.

The BLACK SUPER POWER that filled the room was beyond magical everyone from the cast of PValley to Madam Vice President made a appearance for Essence. Day two of Essence was one for the book’s Fabulous Celebrity Stylist J Bolin and client LeToya Luckett took to the stage to speak on fashion and more. Chloe Hailey took the Cocoa Stage and spoke on women empowerment and who she is as artist. The Exclusive Essence Brunch was packed with BLACK EXCELLENCE with everyone from CoCo Jones to Mona Scott Young. Caroline Wanga CEO of Essence welcomed all guest with a powerful speech on togetherness and being a Essence Family. Saturday night’s concert was one for the world Janet Jackson, Pattie Labelle, Jazmine Sullivan, Summer Walker, Stephanie Mills the list goes on and on Essence said “WE OUTSIDE!”

Day three of Essence gave us family vibes with The Sunday Gospel Fest with Sarah Jakes Roberts to A number of local gospel choirs. Sundays concert took us back way back with New Edition, Method Man, Lil Kim, Ashanti mixed with some new artist like The City Girls. The overall experience for Essence Fest 2022 was a CULTURAL EXPERIENCE THAT YOU DIDN’T WANT TO MISS.
