The Weeknd is proving he’s using his platform for the better. The Grammy Award-winning artist has just recently revealed that he will donate $1 million to Ethiopian relief efforts through the UN World Food Programme.
This effort is important to the “Blinding Lights” singer as his parents are both Ethiopian. The Weeknd took it to Twitter to share the news.

The country made headlines when it was revealed that thousands of civilians are believed to have been killed and abused during the course of Ethiopia’s five-month-old conflict.
