It was recently announced that the 2020 Oscars will not have a “traditional host.”

According to Variety, Karey Burke, President of Disney-owned ABC Entertainment shared, “We expect that we’re going to have a very commercial set of nominations and a lot of incredible elements have come together that make us think we are going to have a very entertaining show again.”

Last year, Kevin Hart earned the title of Oscars host but later pulled out of the position after he was criticized for past homophobic remarks, in which he later apologized. Last year marked the first time the annual award show did not have a host since 1989.

The 2020 Oscars will air LIVE on Sunday, February 9th on ABC at 8 PM EST from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California.
