Baltimore native Arrica Ashe started the concept as a food truck and later a cloud kitchen before opening, The Crazy Crab Bag in May of 2023.

While the owner is from Baltimore, she was introduced to seafood boils from her family in Louisiana and Georgia. Seafood boils at The Crazy Crab Bag come with a garlic sauce or “special sauce” with Old Bay and have ingredients such as snow crab legs, Dungeness crab, shrimp, crawfish, corn, potatoes, broccoli, and more.

Why did you choose seafood specifically when launching a food business?

Arrica: I personally love it! Seafood is my first go to out of all the different types of cuisine.

What’s your favorite type of seafood?

Arrica: The Maryland Blue Crab is my favorite and with us being a Baltimore based restaurant, we can get it local and fresh.

What’s your bestselling menu item?

Arrica: At the moment, our crab dip is our top seller.

What makes your business unique?

Arrica: We serve seafood boils with a BMORE twist, it’s our BMORE BLEND SAUCE. A spicy, buttery, garlic sauce with an old bay and spice blend.

Where do you get your recipes from?

Arrica: Our recipes are family recipes. All of our items are made to order and made from scratch.

Do you believe in work- life balance? If so how do you maintain it?

Arrica: Yes, I haven’t successfully mastered that yet but I’m taking it day by day and accepting small wins.

How can our viewers stay in connection with you?

Arrica: You can follow us on Instagram at the crazy crab bag. https://instagram.com/thecrazycrabbag?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
