During my recent visit to Singapore, I had the pleasure of staying at the prestigious Sofitel Singapore Hotel, located on Sentosa Island. As one of Singapore’s many islands, Sentosa is easily accessible, just a short 22-25 minute journey from the renowned Changi Airport, the country’s primary international hub.

Upon arrival at Changi Airport, I made sure to take advantage of the opportunity to visit the popular tourist attraction within the airport premises. Although I had missed this experience during my previous visit, this time I made it a priority before my departure, given my night flight. The airport now boasts a section where visitors can immerse themselves in a breathtaking rainforest environment for a nominal fee of $10-15. Notably, I opted to explore the magnificent waterfall, which attracts numerous tourists seeking picturesque moments and memorable photo opportunities.

For my transportation needs, I utilized Grab, a ride-hailing service partially owned by Uber, to reach the Sofitel Resort. The junior suite I had booked provided ample space and exuded an unmistakable sense of luxury. Arriving early, I took advantage of the opportunity to savor the delightful buffet breakfast at the resort while awaiting the readiness of my room. During this time, it is essential to ensure personal protection against mosquitoes and other insects, a common necessity when traveling in Asia.

The resort itself was truly exceptional, offering attentive and accommodating staff. The property featured two restaurants and a bar serving light bites, all conveniently located in close proximity to the beach. Guests could opt to either walk to the beach or take advantage of the complimentary beach shuttle, which also provided convenient transportation to various tourist attractions on the island. Additionally, the resort offered a complimentary shuttle service to the nearby island mall and the hotel’s off-property spa.

One of the notable highlights of the resort was its expansive pool area, complemented by a small water pond where guests could indulge in a unique fish spa experience, allowing the fish to gently remove dead skin—an entirely harmless and intriguing activity. Furthermore, the resort provided twice-daily housekeeping services, ensuring a consistently pristine environment throughout my stay.

The spa facilities were truly indulgent, offering a range of amenities such as invigorating massages, tranquil indoor jacuzzis, and two swimming pools. Of particular charm was the pool featuring a picturesque waterfall, adding an enchanting touch to the overall ambiance.

Visiting Sentosa Island during this time of the year exposed me to the region’s notable humidity and high temperatures. As such, it was crucial to prioritize hydration and maintain a cool and comfortable environment.

I thoroughly enjoyed the convenience of having the beach just steps away from the resort, and on lazier days, I availed myself of the beach shuttle service. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Sofitel Resort, as my experience exceeded all expectations. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would confidently rate it a perfect 10, as I encountered no shortcomings and found my stay to be nothing short of exceptional.
