What would you do if you knew you were unstoppable? Lynn Edwards is a nationally recognized author, certified life coach, creator of the Writers Rock mobile app, and CEO of Priceless Inspirations, LLC. She uses her work to empower, enlighten, and inspire people around the world to embrace their power of becoming unstoppable.

Lynn’s work extends far and wide. She served as the Executive Producer of the hit play One Night Only, which was inspired by her best-selling book series. She narrated Secrets of a Woman and has made numerous guest appearances on popular series like The Balancing Act and Shine Your Light as well as on iHeart Radio, The Authors Lounge Radio Show, A Literary Affair, and UP WORDS international magazine. That’s why it was a huge treat when Lynn sat down with us for this Sheen Magazine exclusive about her life, career, and the power of being unstoppable.

Who is Lynette Edwards?

Lynette is an outspoken and sassy yet highly private and caring introvert. While I love working with people and assisting when needed, I absolutely love my personal space and spending time alone in deep thought.

What inspired you to write your first book?

I was first inspired to begin writing when a family member gave me a book of inspiring women because she said that I was always inspiring others. I looked at the book cover and said, “I bet if I wanted to, I could write a book.” It was a joke, yet later I sat at my computer staring at a blank screen with my Bible nearby and said, “Lord, if it’s your will, make a way.” Almost 10 years later and I have published 10 works with another book project releasing later this year.

What makes you a good author?

Creativity and not being afraid to tackle tough topics. I write about things that have either affected me or others near me. I write about it all… from AIDS and relationships to mental health and death. There are no limits when it comes to writing.

Which one of your books surprised you the most?

The book that surprised me the most was One Night Only. It was different because I had only written Christian-based books prior and One Night Only opened me up to a new world of possibility in my writing.

How can you help and inspire other people to achieve their goals?

By providing real-life experiences. I have learned through trial and error. I can help others by showing them the entire process rather than just one piece. Being a writer is more than publishing a book and making a sale. You must identify your target audience, understand the editorial process, copywriting, networking, marketing, and so much more. It takes time and patience to achieve your goals, but it is not impossible.

What advice do you have for new and aspiring writers?

Learn the process. Don’t publish your first book until you have taken the time to fully learn every aspect of the business. This will help you succeed.

Tell us about the most important lesson from your latest book, Ready. Set. Succeed.

The most important lesson from my latest affirmation journal, Ready. Set. Succeed., is that you can succeed. There is nothing that can stop you once you make up your mind to accomplish your goals. You are a force in this world; you matter, and you will win.

What advice do you give to people who come to you with the hope of mirroring your success?

Come to me with an open mind. The truth hurts, but I refuse to sugarcoat anything to spare your feelings. I would rather help you now than allow you to hurt later because you weren’t given the correct information.

What sense of purpose do you draw from your culture and community?

The willingness to be better than the past. We have all had bad experiences and know our ancestors had it far worse than us. There is no need to dwell on the past. Let’s embark on an amazing journey and be better.

How do you use your writing to empower women?

I use my writing to empower women by letting them know that they have a voice in the world. Every book I write speaks on not giving up and being the best version of yourself. Life doesn’t stop and neither should you—be unstoppable.
