Imagine trying to enjoy your night – you’re tuning into an impactful conversation and indulging in a glass of wine. Two things that seem to become more precious with age to me and are a rarity on a weekday. Fast forward to me reaching for my glass of wine and there it is, it’s the spill that I was hoping I was cautious enough to avoid and the fact that it’s red wine – I need to move fast!

While I’m scrubbing the ground with a dish towel it crosses my mind to pull my boyfriend’s favorite rum from the refrigerator and pour it over my mess. At first, I thought I was crazy too but then I remembered Tamera Mowry-Housely’s words on last week’s episode of The Real when she mentioned her success with removing a red wine stain by immediately pouring white wine.

Now, I know you’re probably like – ‘okay, but you used Rum.’ I thought the same but once that product was on the carpet, I really felt like I was doing something, and removing the stain. I checked it out this morning and it still looks a little dark, but I don’t think it’s completely dried yet [I poured a lot of rum on it!]. And since I was still a little nervous, I Googled it to make sure I wasn’t crazy. Check this out from Lifehacker.com:

The moral of this story is your liquor can do more than just provide a good time! If you’re ever in this situation, try it out!
