Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your stage name, Cartier WOW, and what it represents to you?

Cartier is synonymous with luxury and success in Cincinnati. It’s a major accomplishment in the culture to wear Cartier. WOW stands for “World of Warrick” in which I stay truly unapologetically and authentically me. I give listeners insight to my life through my artistry. Welcome to my world.

How has your background influenced your musical style and career path being the son of renowned Reggae artist Papa Muntu?

I grew up in the studio and on stage with my dad. The rhythm and the beats are engrained in the fabric of my existence. He would listen to old school artists and bands that kept me engaged in music growing up. The flavors and styles always influenced me to both sing, rap, create melodies, and more.

What sets your music apart from others in the industry, particularly in the urban hustle culture of Cincinnati?

If you know you know. The vibes speak. But also, I am not lazy. What sets me apart is the rate at which I’m willing to go and GET IT! I will travel across the seven seas if need be, to engage and make connections. I will set aside ego and pride to get where I need to go. I am a constant student of the game and never feel as if I’m too great to learn.

How do you infuse elements of music, fashion, and hustle into your work, creating the world of Warrick that you envision?

I ensure that with every move I make, it’s done in an artistic way. Whether it’s when I shop, when I’m at the gym, when I go to the store. I speak about a lot of fashion and high-quality lifestyle choices in my music, as well as what it takes to get there. The hustle! Nothing good comes easy, or free.  Having influences such as James Brown, Michael Jackson, Prince, and Rick James growing up, flare was always something I appreciated and made sure to display. I grew to mix it in my own way and create the “World of Warrick”.

Could you share with us the creative process behind your recent project, Cartier WOW, and what message you aimed to convey through it?

Through the Cartier WOW project, I was inspired by a vibration. To be completely honest, one of my producers “Tofito beats” sent me a pack and I got straight to work. I challenged myself to create this Project in one day. I did this to give a raw feel of my artistry coming into the music scene. I want to bring a vibration and welcome the listener into my world. The World of Warrick.

What can listeners expect from your upcoming project, “Entrapment,” set to release on April 18th?

“Entrapment” was inspired by tales from New Mexico and the great southwest. Phoenix, Colorado, Vegas, and California are all referenced in giving the listener a glimpse into my life in the wild West.

Your “Drip short” videos have received significant attention online. How do visual elements complement your music, and what role do they play in your artistic expression?

Visual elements are very important to me because it gives the listener and fans better insight into the artist. I believe that connecting with the fans and supporters is a very important element to music and expressing high-quality visuals are one of my main focuses as an artist because that is what the people will remember the most, I don’t just want any kind of visual. I want visuals that captivate the viewer and visuals that give insight to the World of Warrick. Moving forward, I would like to create more cinematic, visuals, and movie like content.

Performing live at events like Canvas Artistry and the 420 Fest must be exciting. How do you prepare for live performances, and what do you hope to achieve through these shows?

I was an All-American track athlete. I’m also a scholar. I have a master’s degree and I’m a hustler. I go get it. I approach performing the same way. I approach everything in life with animal like tenacity and an attitude of a winner. Proper preparation permits prizes—I think that speaks for itself.

Hosting a fashion show at Backend Global Studios and a pop-up shop at J. Salandino Collections demonstrates your multifaceted approach to artistry. How do these events reflect your personal style and artistic vision?

I think these events are a major reflection of my style and artistic vision. I engage with the fashion community. I make sure that I am immersed in the latest and most updated fashion styles the same way I approach my music fresh stylish and up to date. These are two very notable fashion studios in the greater Cincinnati area, and I’m honored to work with them translating my artistic vision it’s reality.

How do you balance the world of music and fashion in your creative endeavors, and what aspects of each realm do you find most inspiring?

There doesn’t have to be a balance because it’s unpredictable every time I walk out the door. I want to look like I’m out of a magazine every time I record a record. I want to sound like I’m out of a movie scene. I don’t believe I would be the artist I am today if I didn’t focus on fashion because fashion inspires me. Seeing new pieces, different styles, and colors is a lot like music production. When you start combining layers, it all adds up—once you get the final picture it’s Picasso.

In what ways do you aim to connect with your audience through your music and fashion projects, creating an immersive experience for them?

I want to connect with my audience by giving them a shared experience, a shared journey. Only those who truly appreciate art will fully be able to connect with Cartier WOW. I want to show my efforts and that I am truly paying attention to detail with both my fashion and my lyrics. Relatable lyrics, content, as well as styles, can only attract the best of the best in the art community.

Looking ahead, what are your aspirations for the future of your music career and the evolution of the Cartier WOW brand?

In the future, I would like Cartier WOW the brand to be synonymous with brands of those of the greats such as Kanye, Pharrell, A$AP Rocky, & more. I want Cartier WOW to be synonymous with luxury fashion, hustle, and style. The goal is to build a space for fun, fresh, and captivating expression all over the world.

Can you share a funny or pivotal experience with us that you will always remember?

One funny experience would be that when there are situations where I do get offended by somebody in the music of fashion industry, it only turns me up and makes me want to go harder and greater. I’ll leave that there.

Has social media helped you expand your reach and if so, in what ways?

Absolutely! Social media has helped me expand my reach. The difference between now and the old days is that with social media you can put something out and it’s blasted to millions of people in one second. Learning the social media game and algorithms is very important for artist in 2024. Without the right marketing and game plan, it is very hard to make noise and grow your brand.

In your opinion, what does success mean to you?

Success to me means reaching your goals, whatever your goals are. If you’re on your way there you’re successful. If you have no goals, then you can’t be successful. As long as you’re chasing your dreams, you’re on the right path to success.

Describe what a day in the life of Warrick Moore looks like.

A day in my life is different every single day. I try to make goals and cross them off the checklist in order to get to where I aspire to be. I like to live a healthy lifestyle to an extent, and I work out. I try and cook and eat well. I try to juice every day too. My father is Jamaican, so I kind of live a Rasta lifestyle. I guess other than that, I work on my music and continue to grow my craft in music and fashion, whether that’s recording songs or coming up with new logos or designs to reach out to designers or producers about. Each day is different.

Any special shoutouts you’d like to give?

I want to give a shout out to all of my people in Cincinnati, Ohio, all of my people in Albuquerque, New Mexico—Phoenix to California, and all the way back down south to Houston, Texas, and Georgia. I want to give a shout out to anybody who supports me. I want to give a shout out to my family, siblings, my pops, my cousins, you name it. The people who are there for me know who they are, and I love you. Bless up, I promise to never stop going.

In conclusion, Cartier WOW’s unwavering dedication to infusing artistry into every aspect of his life sets him apart as a true creative powerhouse in the music and fashion world. With a passion for pushing boundaries and a commitment to authenticity, Cartier WOW continues to redefine artistry through his unique blend of music, fashion, and hustle.
