The first Black-owned grocery store has officially opened their doors!

Robert Thomas, former owner of District 1960 Nightclub shut down his club due to the pandemic, but turned his situation into a positive with the idea to open up District Market Green Grocer.

The new store is the first recorded Black-owned supermarket in Houston, Texas. The store is located at 3337 Cypress Creek Parkway and includes products from about 40 vendors. The store opens Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM.
