If you’re a fan of the television show Stranger Things, and you’re in the Los Angeles area, then there’s only one place you need to be: the Stranger Things Experience. Located in Montebello, California, just outside of downtown Los Angeles, this new immersive activation serves a real-life playground for audiences of all ages and from all walks of life.
For those who aren’t familiar, Stranger Things is one of Netflix’ most popular shows, with 5 incredible seasons under their belt. The storyline takes place in Indiana in the 1980’s, as “a group of young friends witness supernatural forces and secret government exploits. As they search for answers, the children unravel a series of extraordinary mysteries.”
The invite to the Stranger Things Experience comes in the form of participation in Hawkins Lab latest experiment: taking attendees on a journey through Hawkins Lab alongside your favorite characters: Eleven, Dustin, Mike, Lucas, Max, and Will. The selling point is definitely the opportunity to feel what it means to be a character on the show, and feel the rush as you are asked to channel your superpowers to save yourself and your peers.
Sheen had the pleasure of attending, with a VIP Invitation that included one complimentary drink and a special Stranger Things Gift. The first part of the experience was reminiscent of a ride at Universal Studios Studios, as we were able to do puzzles and work together as a group to get to safety.
The best part arrived at the end, as we entered an 80’s themed mini-festival that offered a bar, an ice cream parlor, a pizza shop, and a gift shop.
