Bella Blair was just recently named one of Pandora’s Caribbean Artists to Watch in the year 2022 and without a doubt, we’re couldn’t agree more. Not only was her EP titled, Shine a huge hit in the music world, but we believe her soulful voice is here to take the entertainment industry by storm. We had the chance to sit down with her recently for an exclusive interview to discuss her track, “Gimme A Light,” her musical influences, and much more.

Tell us when you knew music was something you wanted to pursue as a career?

As early as age four when my parents and teachers realized I was talented in the performing arts. I entered competitions at this young age and won medals. From then, I knew that music was my passion.

Where did the nickname for your fanbase, “Turkle Gang” come from?

The nickname came from the belief that the race is not for the swift but for those who can endure. The message of the infamous story of the turtle and the hare inspired the name.

What inspired your single, “Gimme A Light.”

I consider myself a sophisticated stoner so it’s quite simple, I wrote it because I love the herb. It’s my love song to the herb and a celebration of cannabis culture.

What artists would you say inspire you and your music?

So many! To name the main ones: Erykah Badu, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, and Beyoncé.

What are you working on now and what can we expect to see from you in 2022?

COVID had us on hold for so long. 2022 is the year that people will really know who Bella is and what my sound is. Being named one of Pandora’s Caribbean Artists to Watch in 2022 is just the beginning.
